Holly Bridge Farm: The Story

The History

Historically, the parish comprised three Manors (Bramshott, Ludshott and Chiltlee).

Although Liphook is mentioned in 1388 it is not until the 15th century that the name Liphook began to be used formally in place of Chiltlee.

Liphook is situated between London and Portsmouth, and the presence of good rail and road links has encouraged development of the area.

Today there are six hamlets, of which Hammer Vale and Hewshott (sited to the North East of the borough) offers its own unique character.

Hewshott is made up of a small rural community, where farming is no longer a dominant activity, as the land has been given over to gardens and paddocks.

Holly Bridge Farm sits to the top of the valley of the River Wey, close to the South Downs National Park.

It can be accessed by paths and roads where you can view the Historic Hewshott Bridge.
